Our Story

After owning a private optometry practice and optical, entrepreneurs Justin & Sarah Ward wanted to bring more unique eyewear styles to their patients that actually reflected the community around them. Each frame is hand-selected by our skilled opticians and named after an icon or landmark in East Texas. The temple of each frame bears the name of these local establishments and landmarks, to celebrate the solidarity of the East Texas community. Life behind the Pine Curtain is a nod to a time when you felt connected to your neighbor.
